CRAWFORD COUNTY. OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—On Friday, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office wrapped up a significant investigation into a series of stolen commercial lifts being rented from businesses across Ohio and nearby states, only to be resold in Crawford County.

During the operation, authorities intercepted a 35 ft. JLG Boom Lift valued at approximately $30,000, which was being sold by individuals from Michigan to a buyer in Crawford County. At approximately 11:03 p.m., deputies arrested 22-year-old Farandis Carnell Russell from Michigan for possessing stolen property.

The boom lift had originally been rented from Home Depot in Cleveland, Ohio, and was due to be returned by September 30, 2025. A theft report was filed with the local jurisdiction following the lift’s disappearance.

Russell is currently being held at the Crawford County Justice Center as the case remains under investigation. Reports are set to be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for potential additional charges.
