BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A traffic stop conducted by Officer Wireman on Monday resulted in the arrest of a Bucyrus resident on drug charges.

At approximately 9:08 p.m., Officer Wireman pulled over an electric bicyclist on North Lane Street near Plymouth Street for failing to have a functional rear light.

The bicyclist was identified as 58-year-old David Whitt. During the stop, it was discovered that Whitt had an active warrant from Ontario, leading to his immediate arrest.

Upon further investigation, Officer Wireman found approximately 7 grams of suspected methamphetamine in Whitt’s possession.

He has been taken into custody and is currently held at the Crawford County Justice Center, facing charges for possession of Schedule 1 or 2 drugs in a bulk amount, classified as a third-degree felony.
