BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In a critical situation for local animal welfare, the Crawford County Humane Society is reaching out to the community for financial assistance following the unexpected failure of their air conditioning unit after 28 years of service.
The unit, which broke down during the hottest week of the year, has left the kennel struggling to maintain a comfortable environment for its animals.

After testing the unit, it was discovered it had lost 80% of its functionality within just 26 hours, making immediate replacement necessary.
While an estimate for the new system is pending, early indications suggest that the replacement cost will exceed the organization’s current budget.

To cope with the extreme heat, the kennel has purchased a large 36-inch floor fan, and the local Bucyrus TSC store generously donated a second unit. However, while these fans help with air circulation, they cannot provide adequate cooling for the animals in their care.

The Crawford Humane Society is urging community members to contribute, no matter how small the amount, to help fund the replacement of the broken air conditioning unit. Donations can be made directly through their website
