The bond set by Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold on Monday in the case against Marcus Williams was a big number. Then again, so were the number of counts in the indictment charging Williams with sex crimes involving minors, and so is the potential prison sentence and fines.

Williams was arraigned on Monday and the judge set his bond at $2.5 million. He is charged with 24 counts of pandering sexually oriented materials involving a minor, all felony four offenses, and 56 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented materials, each of those a felony five.

Williams, if he is convicted of all counts as charged and given maximum, consecutive sentences, faces 92 years in prison and fines totaling $260,000.

Williams has a 2011 conviction in Jackson County stemming from similar charges. Attorney Rolf Whitney was assigned to represent Williams. The new charges against Williams are a result of an investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Eight others were also arraigned Monday including three co-defendants now charged with forgery as a result of their arrests last month from trying to pass counterfeit bills. Also arraigned Monday were: Keair Key, F5 forgery ($100,000); Damon Blocker, F5 forgery ($100,000); Destiny Thomas, F5 forgery ($100,000); Rex Beecham, F3 fleeing and eluding and F5 drug possession ($200,000); Gerald Brock, F3 solicitation for sex with a minor ($250,000); Alyssa Hayman, F5 permitting drug abuse ($150,000); Kaleb Johnson, F3 illegal manufacture of drugs, F5 drug trafficking, F3 drug possession, F3 drug possession, F5 drug possession and F3 drug possession ($500,000); and Myles Duncan, F2 drug trafficking and F5 drug possession ($500,000).
