BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In an effort to foster positive relationships between local law enforcement and youth, the Bucyrus Elks Lodge #156 has made a generous donation to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.
The local D.A.R.E. initiative gives sheriff’s deputies a direct avenue to engage with students across the area. Through regular classroom interactions, the program aims to encourage good decision-making skills, guide students in assessing risk, and teach the importance of safe, responsible choices.
Funding from community partners like the Elks Lodge ensures the program can continue operating across a wide footprint in Crawford County. The local D.A.R.E. curriculum currently serves students in eight school districts and private institutions:
