As reported by Crawford County Now in early December, Judge Leuthold accepted Gallant’s guilty plea on 21 felony counts, including aggravated trafficking in drugs, trafficking in fentanyl-related compounds, having weapons under disability, and aggravated possession of drugs. Gallant was facing a potential sentence of over 20 years behind bars.

As part of his plea agreement, Gallant consented to forfeit a significant collection of firearms and related items, which included:

  • Texas Cowboy Bond Arms .410/.45 caliber pistol

  • CD Defense Model AR12S 12-gauge shotgun
  • Several additional handguns and rifles from manufacturers like Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and Taurus
  • Numerous magazines, ammunition, and accessories, including a ballistic vest and various gun parts.

Judge Leuthold ordered a pre-sentence investigation prior to today’s sentencing.

During Wednesday’s hearing, the state of Ohio requested a 20-year prison term for Gallant. Ultimately, Judge Leuthold sentenced him to a total of 16 years in prison, which includes 14 years for the drug-related charges and an additional two years for the firearm offenses. Gallant will receive credit for 300 days of jail time served.
