CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Park District is inviting the public to a series of outdoor events this June, offering a chance to escape the hustle of everyday life and connect with nature.

Archery Shoot at Lowe-Volk Park

On Tuesday, June 25, from 5-7pm, the Crawford Park District will host an archery shoot at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598. This event is perfect for those looking for sport, food, or fun. Participants will receive an introduction to archery safety and shooting basics. All equipment will be provided. To register, call the Crawford Park District at 419-683-9000.

Exploring Carpenter’s Bottom

On Saturday, June 29, at 2pm, join Rich Carpenter at the Carpenter’s Bottom Natural Area, 3225 State Route 98, as he shares the stories and history of Carpenter’s Bottom. Former Director of the CPD, Bill Fisher, will also cover the natural history aspects of this program. Participants can hike along, or if available, use golf carts to cruise the trails.

Viewing the Night Sky

Later that evening, at 9:30pm, members of the Crawford Park Astronomy Club will share their knowledge and telescope skills at Lowe-Volk Park. The summer targets include the Big Dipper, Arcturus, Corona Borealis, Hercules, M92, Cat’s Eye Nebula (NGC 6543), Scorpius, and the center of the Milky Way.
