BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Chandler Cobb, a 23-year-old inmate at the Crawford County Jail, appeared in the Common Pleas Court yesterday to voluntarily waive his right to a speedy trial.

Cobb, who faces two counts of rape, is being legally represented by court-appointed attorney Terry Hitchman.

The charges against Cobb are particularly grave, as he stands accused of raping two young children aged eight and six during incidents that occurred between 2015 and 2018. Shockingly, Chandler Cobb is the third member of the Cobb family to be implicated in sex crimes against children.

Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall revealed that Chandler Cobb reportedly confessed to the heinous acts, which involved victims close to him.

Despite the offenses being committed when he was a juvenile, the delayed reporting led to Cobb being charged as an adult, potentially facing a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

During the investigation, Cobb allegedly admitted to ceasing the abuse when he entered a relationship with his fiancée but had warned the victims to remain silent about the atrocities they endured.

The disturbing family history continues, as Chandler’s father, Chet Cobb, 45, and his grandfather, Mark Cobb, 66, are both serving a fifty-four-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to charges of pandering sexually explicit material involving a minor.

Presiding over the proceedings, Judge Leuthold ordered a pretrial date to be scheduled shortly, marking the next step in the legal process as Chandler Cobb’s case unfolds in the Crawford County Court.
