The old adage, “do the crime, do the time,” was applied again Friday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court. Two men entered guilty pleas to felony charges in unrelated cases and both were sentenced to prison.
Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Kelly Johnson to 11 months in prison after accepting his guilty plea to a charge of domestic violence. The judge, noted the 29-year-old Galion man’s extensive record of violence that includes significant time in the county jail and one previous stint in prison.
“It’s only going to get worse and worse,” Leuthold said. “When you get back out, you’ve got to behave yourself.”
Christopher Grasley, 24, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property for using another person’s debit card. Grasley, from Bucyrus, was sentenced to six months in prison and must pay $365 in restitution to the victim.
Neither Johnson nor Grasley was fined but both men pay court costs. Both are also subject to three years of conditional post-release control that will be determined by the Ohio Parole Board when they are released from prison.
