NEW WASHINGTON – A beauty salon in downtown Bucyrus has recently expanded with the opening of another location in New Washington.
The Beauty Bar, which has operated at 1501 E. Mansfield St. in Bucyrus since its opening in August 2019, is now offering a variety of beauty and pampering services for men and women at 201B W. Mansfield St. in New Washington.
Operator Madison Rinehart said it definitely seemed like a win-win for her to serve clients in the northern part of Crawford County too. “I know a lot of people that live over there, so I felt it was a good way to expand over in that direction.”
Rinehart has spruced up the interior of her newest salon. Fresh paint has been added to the walls and ceiling, conveying a “rustic theme” of bold teal complemented with white-washed wood and shiplap accents around the workstations.
The building at one time used to house a hair salon, she said, which made the decision to expand at that location easier. Three professional stylists already work at The Beauty Bar in New Washington, but Rinehart said she also plans to hire a nail technician in March.
“We’re excited for that too. We’re super busy so far,” Rinehart said of both salon locations. “I personally do the nails, but I’m certified to do everything. We have a good variety on staff. We keep a fairly busy schedule. All of our services are usually a bit hit.”
The Beauty Bar offers haircuts and color, manicures, acrylic nails, facials, lash lifts and tints, plus bleaching and waxing services. Rinehart worked at Nail Elegance Spa & More in Shelby before moving back to the Bucyrus area. She also built her clientele base while working above The Styling Den in Bucyrus, then decided to go into business for herself about two years ago.
A Crawford County native, Rinehart graduated from Colonel Crawford High School and Pioneer Career & Technology Center’s cosmetology program in 2018. She earned her cosmetology license the same year.
