Bucyrus’ Taylor Rossman pitched and hit the Lady Redmen to victory yesterday afternoon in a 2-1 walk-off win over Oak Harbor.
Rossman struck out 12 in pitching a 3-hitter for her 20th win of the season. The victory at the Division III district semi-final at Clyde High School puts Bucyrus into Fridays district championship game against the winner of tonight’s contest between Mohawk and New Riegel.
Bucyrus scored in the first inning. With one out Nikki Tuttle doubled and came home on a two out single by Laney Mollenkopf. Oak Harbor tied the game with an unearned run in the fourth.
Leading off the seventh inning, Rossman hit the second pitch over the left field fence for the walk off win, Bucyrus’ 21st on the season.
Bucyrus had five hits in the game. Besides the Rossman home run, Tuttle’s double and Mollenkopf’s RBI single, Macey Sheerer and Cierra Awbrey also singled.
