BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A new Scooter’s Coffee location is on track to open in Bucyrus, bringing a new option for coffee lovers.

Scooter’s Coffee is a national brand out of Omaha, Nebraska, with 900 locations nationwide that serves food, espresso drinks, teas, Red Bull Infusions, and way more.

Brothers Joel Spitzer and Timothy Plumley, who are from Bucyrus, have been working on this project for over two years and are even looking to open more locations around the area. They hope to open five locations over the next three to five years.

The Bucyrus location will be the first store to open by Spitzer and Plumley, a decision made intentionally.

“I know people are going to come buy coffees and drinks and fusions and treats, but it was really to try to build a foundation for our first store, the people we know and the place we love, and that was the most important,” says Spitzer.

One unique feature of the new Bucyrus location is that it is one of the few stores that will have walk-up windows in addition to a drive-through. The location will also have some outdoor seating as well as a patio area for customers to enjoy as well.

The most exciting part for Spitzer about seeing the project come together has been being able to see others’ excitement as well as helping revitalize a small part of the city.

“That area next to the medicine shop has been kind of dilapidated for many decades, and one of the more exciting things, you know, being from here, growing up here, is being able to revitalize at least that parcel. Then also it’s been really exciting to see friends and family and everybody get excited about having options in Bucyrus,” says Spitzer.

The new Scooters Coffee location in Bucyrus is hoping to open its doors in late August or early September.
