After missing the playoffs last year, the Wynford Royals made their return to the postseason Friday night hosting the opening round game against the Delphos Jefferson Wildcats.
Wynford Quarterback Keaton Teynor threw for 98 yards on 6 of 4 passing and a touchdown, and rushed for another score to help eliminate the Wildcats from the playoffs with a final score of 29-12.
Wynford started off scoring early going up 6-0 on a 9 play 57 yard drive capped off by a 4 yard touchdown run by Nick Looker. Austin Shutler caught the two point conversion from Jalon Brown to put the Royals up 8-0.
Wynford struck again with 6:57 to go in the first half on a 51 yard reception from Teynor to Tony Watson that was tipped by a Wildcat defender. After a PAT from Brown the Royals led 15-0.
Delphos Jefferson made it a game after a 5 yard score by Adam Rhodes to bring the score to 15-6.
The Royals finished the first half with a lead of 22 to 6 after Hayden Rhoades scored from 11 yards out followed by a Brown PAT.
Delphos Jefferson Brought it to within 10 points in the fourth after Matt Cline scored on a 16 yard reception from Jace Stockwell, however the Royals capped their night off with a 21 yard rush
from Wynford QB Teynor to close out the game 29 to 12.
Hayden Rhodes carried the rock for the Royals for 89 yards on 10 attempts and a touchdown. Tony Watson led Wynford receivers with 2 receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.
