BUCYRUS (Crawford County Now) — The 58th Bucyrus Ladies Invitational Bowling Tournament got underway on Saturday at Suburban Lanes. The eight matches included the top 16 bowlers in sanctioned leagues in Bucyrus.

Heather McLaughlin had the high four-game series of the day, defeating Carolyn Kindred, 1012-854. Emily Groves topped Lisa Penwell, 880-759, Catrina Parker beat Robin Pangallo, 969-849, and Schelby Gabel dropped Michelle Stahl, 911-874.

In the closest match of the day, Patricia Horsley edged Gloria Huber, 860-844. Abby Gledhill slipped past Charlie Britt, 953-920, Cynthia Hester bested Terri Bonham, 901-794, and Morgan Swavel downed Tascha Ridgeway, 878-744.

On Sunday, in the winners’ bracket, Gledhill had the high series, rolling past Horsley, 1009-850. McLaughlin defeated Swavel, 939-800, Parker got by Groves, 882-819, and Gabel was 65 pins better than Hester, 870-805.

In the losers’ bracket, Bonham squeaked past Stahl, 841-829, Kindred defeated Ridgeway, 856-767, Britt stopped Huber, 846-759, and Pangallo held off Penwell, 924-848.

The field is now down to 12 as Huber, Penwell, Ridgeway, and Stahl were eliminated.

The losers’ bracket will have another session on Tuesday with Britt taking on Hester, Ridgeway facing off with Parker, Bonham facing off with Horsley, and Pangallo taking on Horsley back at Suburban Lanes.
