Clarence Paul Harriger died on December 7th, 2021. He was 88 years old.

Clarence was born on December 21, 1932 in Tiro, Ohio. He was a welder by trade, retiring from McClain (formerly Hercules and Peabody Galion) in the mid 1990s, and a farmer by birth and passion. He hoped to farm until he was 100, and almost made it. Although his work on the land lessened in recent years, he continued to live on his farm with the help of his children (and others who were called when he got himself in a tight spot). One to puzzle over challenges until he found a way forward, he delighted in custom, improvised, and thrifty solutions. As deep as his roots ran into the Ohio soil, his eyes looked skyward to catch a glimpse of his favorite color, blue-sky blue, as he sat in his trusty John Deer gator with Spike at his side, his constant and loyal canine companion, as they together watched down the lane for the mail to arrive.

He was predeceased by parents Ira and Clara (Fritz) and sister Ruth. He is survived by sister Dorothy of Bucyrus and brother Roger (Sandy) of Galion; children Steven (Sharon), Earl (Ivy Oehrli), Donna (David) Hartney, Randy (Marianne), and David (Anna Rosier); a niece and nephew; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren
