CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Partnership, in collaboration with the Community Foundation for Crawford County, is pleased to announce that Workforce Ready Intern Program grants have been awarded to Driven Excavating and Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works for Summer 2026 internship opportunities.
The Workforce Ready Intern Program was created to strengthen the local talent pipeline while supporting Crawford County employers through paid internship opportunities for young adults entering the workforce. Each selected employer may receive up to $5,000 in wage reimbursement to offset the cost of hiring and training interns.
Driven Excavating and Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works were selected for their commitment to providing meaningful, hands-on work experiences that will allow local students and young adults to gain valuable career experience while contributing to Crawford County businesses.
Eligible interns for the program include Crawford County residents between the ages of 18 and 22, such as recent high school graduates, vocational school graduates, and college students. Participating interns will serve in entry-level positions as W-2 employees while gaining practical workplace experience and career development opportunities.
To qualify for reimbursement, employers must ensure interns complete a minimum of 120 hours of paid work at no less than $13 per hour.
The internship period will take place between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
“This program creates a direct connection between Crawford County employers and the next generation of workforce talent,” said Makenna Laser, Executive Director at the Crawford Partnership. “We are excited to partner with Driven Excavating and Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works to provide meaningful experiences that help young professionals build skills while supporting the workforce needs of local employers.”
The Crawford Partnership extends its appreciation to the Community Foundation for Crawford County for its continued support of workforce development initiatives that benefit both local businesses and future workforce leaders.
