MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Mansfield Post are investigating after a woman was found dead Tuesday morning at a rest area in Richland County.
Authorities said the incident occurred June 9 at approximately 6:14 a.m., when troopers responded to reports of an unresponsive person at a rest area on the eastbound side of U.S. 30.
Upon arrival, troopers located Cassandra Johnson, 40, of Mansfield, lying unresponsive on the ground in the parking lot next to her vehicle. Emergency medical personnel pronounced Johnson dead at the scene.
Officials said foul play is not suspected in the case. The cause of death remains under investigation.
No additional details were immediately released.
