CRESTLINE — Crestline Mayor Linda Horning-Pitt gave her report to the Crestline Village Council on Monday evening and she has been busy during her first few weeks in her new position.

Horning-Pitt said she attended a recent Crawford Partnership meeting.

“A consultant discussed the 2020 Vision for Crawford County and I asked that they include Crestline in this planning,” Horning-Pitt said.

She noted several people have spoken to her about the positive energy and revitalization that is going on in Crestline. A community meeting two weeks ago detailed the positive actions the village is taking to foster growth and development.

“We received lots of positive feedback from the 200 plus citizens that attended,” Horning-Pitt said.

In his report to council, Crestline Village Administrator John Rostash said Buckeye Excavating now is connecting water service lines to the mainline from Wiley Street to Pearl Street as part of the Main Street Waterline Replacement Phase 1.

The construction zone is from Wiley Street to Seltzer Street.

“Please drive with caution in this area,” Rostash said. “We will do our best to keep the community informed on our website, www.crestlineoh.com and our Facebook, page @CrestlineOhio.”

He said two large plow trucks are now back in service for the village and that plans for a new wastewater treatment plant are underway with sewer plant team members heading to Tartan Fields and Logan next week to view their wastewater treatment facilities.

He said as the village moves forward with several projects, capital improvement program funding is a priority.

“As we look to move Crestline forward, funding of our capital improvements must be balanced with our budget constraints. These constraints can be overcome by various grants, principal forgiveness loans, and traditional loans,” Rostash said. “Please know that we are aggressively pursuing available funding sources for our Capital Improvement Program.”

Council approved the mayor’s appointments of Joann Palm, Matt Bickert and Linda Marsano to the Board of Tax Review.

The next council meeting is Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
