BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— Wynford Local School District voters will decide on a 1.75% traditional school district income tax on the Nov. 3 ballot as district leaders seek to stabilize finances following a 23-year gap since passing new operational funding.
Speaking on Community Spotlight, Jay Scott with “Wynford for Kids” emphasized that the district has tightened its budget, slashing more than $850,000 in spending since last spring—nearly half coming from administrative costs—to adjust to rising inflation.
Scott noted that passing the income tax will allow the school board to fulfill a key commitment: letting one of the district’s two existing property tax levies expire when it comes up for renewal next year. District leaders hope the “pass the income tax, lower your property tax” strategy offers a sustainable financial path forward for the district over the next decade.
