MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — Pillar Credit Union opens its newest branch in Mansfield, expanding its services to residents in the area.
The new location is the result of a merger with Tappan Credit Union, which took effect on June 1st.
Daniel Bradshaw, the Chief Marketing Officer for Pillar Credit Union, says that the new location in Mansfield allows Pillar to expand its overall reach.
“We’ve already been available to folks, but a lot of the time, if you don’t have a physical location in the community, then people might be a little more hesitant to consider you for things like checking accounts or auto loans or that sort of thing,” says Bradshaw.
Pillar Credit Union services all things from auto loans, personal loans, credit cards, home loans, and more.
Bradshaw says customers can expect to walk into a hometown financial institution, but the main difference is that Pillar is small enough to provide great customer service and has grown enough to have the right resources to help customers.
“It’s going to be people that are there looking to help people solve whatever problem they might have or answer whatever questions they might have, and they’re not there to sell anything, but they’re there to listen and find out what’s going to be the best fit for them and just help them get into that,” says Bradshaw.
With the addition of the new location, Pillar Credit Union will not only be another option for residents but will also be a benefit to the local community.
“A lot of it comes down to just showing up and letting people see that we are there. When they see that, and they recognize this is a place that does care about this community and is going to give back, then we hope that they’re going to say where I bank matters,” said Bradshaw.
Pillar Credit Union has already begun giving back to the community by being one of the first businesses to sponsor a horse in the refurbishment of the Richland Carousel. They are also sponsoring the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s that is happening in Mansfield in the fall.
“If your money is at Pillar, then you can feel confident that your money is going to be supporting your friends, your neighbors, the business right there in your own backyard no matter which community of ours that you live in,” says Bradshaw.
The new Pillar Credit Union location is open, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening will take place once touch-ups on the building are finished.
