ONTARIO, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Police in Ontario are investigating a shooting incident that was reported by a FedEx driver early Tuesday morning. The driver called 911 after noticing a person slumped over in a vehicle with two bullet holes in the driver’s side window, prompting an immediate response from local police.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers confirmed the presence of the bullet holes by using optics from a safe distance to inspect the vehicle. They quickly approached the car to assess the situation and determine if medical assistance was necessary.
The Springfield Township Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and transported one individual to a nearby hospital. The condition of the person has not been disclosed at this time.
Following the discovery of the shooting, investigators called for additional support. Detectives from the Mansfield Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) have joined the Ontario Police Department in their efforts to gather evidence and clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
