With all eyes on the latter part of the week and thawing temperatures, Old Man Winter threw a sucker punch at North Central Ohio.
A quarter inch of rain added with more than three inches of new snowfall and wind have put Crawford and surrounding counties back under snow level advisories. Level 3 snow advisories were posted in Crawford, Huron and Seneca counties. Morrow County is under a Level 2 advisory. Richland County is under a Level 1.
The Crawford County Courthouse is closed for today.
While the snow was forecast to end around 4:30 this morning the current threat from the weather is wind. A dispatcher with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said county crews were having a difficult time keeping up with blowing and drifting snow and several roads were becoming very difficult to travel.
The Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said it had several reports overnight of vehicles stuck in ditches and warned that roadways were drifting, snow covered and slippery.
