NEW WASHINGTON, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—New Washington’s Bicentennial Celebration begins tomorrow, Friday, June 19, from 4 to 11 p.m., and continues Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday’s festivities begin with food trucks and the beer garden opening at 4 p.m. Kids’ entertainment, the New Washington Historical Society, and the History of New Washington Town Band will be available from 5 to 9 p.m.
Live entertainment Friday begins at 5 p.m. with an open mic session, followed by performances from Kirsten McCarthy and Gopher Baroque later in the evening.
The cornhole tournament begins in the American Legion parking lot at 5:30 p.m., while the convocation ceremony takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the gazebo.
To close out the first night, the homebrew contest and tasting will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the K of C Hall.
Saturday’s events begin with the New Washington 200‑year 5K run/walk at 9 a.m., with proceeds benefiting St. John’s Food Pantry.
The parade begins at 11 a.m., and food trucks, the beer garden, and the historical society open at the same time.
The homemade bratwurst contest begins at 11:30 a.m., with judging set for 1 p.m.
Beginning at noon, live entertainment continues with performances by Addie Ricker, Sarah Nye, Mick McCarthy, Matthew Cotter, and One Foot in the Grave. The craft show, car show, History of New Washington Town Band, and kids’ entertainment also open at this time.
From 12:30 to 3 p.m., children can participate in the kids pedal pull, while Buckeye Central S.T.E.A.M. demonstrations run from 1 to 3 p.m. in the K of C Hall.
The New Washington Town Band performs at 7:30 p.m., and the Bicentennial Celebration concludes with fireworks at 10:30 p.m.
The two‑day celebration offers residents the chance to honor New Washington’s rich history and enjoy time with friends and family.
