MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A shooting incident unfolded at approximately 2:45 p.m. on June 19, at a residence located at 12 Florence Avenue. Local law enforcement responded to reports of two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 23-year-old woman and her 24-year-old brother inside the home. Both were promptly transported to OhioHealth for medical treatment. Unfortunately, the 24-year-old male later succumbed to his injuries, while the 23-year-old female remains hospitalized and is currently receiving care.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident may be linked to domestic violence, with authorities categorizing it as a felonious assault-suicide.
The Mansfield Division of Police, in collaboration with the Richland County Coroner’s Office, is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
Officials are not releasing the names of the individuals involved at this time.
