BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the State Capital Budget (House Bill 2) into law on Friday, bringing in a record $1.6 million in funding for local projects. This marks the highest amount ever secured for the county, a testament to the dedicated efforts of local legislators.
Senator Bill Reineke and Representative Riordan McClain played crucial roles in advocating for this funding, which is expected to bring numerous benefits to the region. “The Capital Budget Process allows us to invest in our communities and other critical needs throughout the state, and Senate District 26 will reap many benefits as a result of the funding secured,” Reineke stated. He emphasized his strong support for the funded projects, citing their exceptional value to the community.
McClain echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of these investments in enhancing local infrastructure and services. The capital budget often includes community-specific allotments, and this year’s law is no exception. Among the notable Crawford County projects funded are:
– YMCA of Bucyrus-Tiffin Facility: State funding earmarked for improvements and construction at this local facility.
– Crawford County JFS ADA Ramp: Capital funds designated for upgrades to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act at the Department of Jobs and Family Services.
– Bucyrus Aumiller Recreational Trail Project: State funds awarded to expand and enhance local recreational trails.
– Norton Bicentennial Park Buildout: Funding allocated for the development and expansion of this community park.
