CRESTLINE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—History will come to life on the grounds of Colonel Crawford Schools next month as the Dapper Cabin hosts a community craft show and fundraiser to support its ongoing maintenance and construction.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the reconstructed 1840s cabin located at 5444 Crestline Road.

Operated entirely through private donations, the Dapper Cabin serves as a hands-on educational hub for students in grades two through six. Beyond school functions, the site is also a community resource available for family gatherings and private events.

Attendees can experience 19th-century life through a variety of interactive demonstrations, including a working blacksmith, historical reenactors, and wagon rides. Fresh bread will also be baked on-site in the cabin’s traditional beehive oven.

The craft show will feature an array of local vendors offering jewelry, sewn goods, resin art, beaded items, and garden decor. Specialized items such as badge reels, suncatchers, and photography will also be available for purchase.

A lunch will be provided by donation, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the cabin fund. These funds are critical for the continued preservation of the structure and its integration into the local school curriculum.
