Ohio Gov. John Kasich was busy Thursday signing his John Hancock on six bills, four originating in the Ohio House of Representatives and the other two in the Senate. All six are now law.
House Bill 141 abolishes both the Fostoria and Tiffin Municipal courts and replaces them with the Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court. House Bill 1 makes changes to Ohio’s Workforce Law including renaming county one-stop systems and requiring a local workforce investment area to use OhioMeansJobs as its job placement system.
Senate Bill 4 requires hospitals and birthing centers to screen newborns for congenital heart defects.
The other bills designate October as Manufacturing Month, the first week of October as Ohio Forest Products Awareness Week, and Sept. 10 as Ohio Suicide Prevention Day.
