A two-vehicle crash on Ohio 4, south of the state route’s intersection with Ohio 294, was one of many incidents caused by hazardous snow conditions the morning of Wednesday, March 21.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Mark McLaughlin, a Marion man was driving southbound on Ohio 4 when he lost control of his SUV and struck the side of an SUV of a Bucyrus couple traveling northbound.
The driver-side airbag deployed in the Bucyrus couple’s vehicle.
The Marion man is expected to be cited for failure to control.
McLaughlin said the accident was caused by slippery, and otherwise, hazardous road conditions.
Multiple plows with the Ohio Department of Transportation were tending to the roadways while safety crews were on the scene.
McLaughlin added four other crashes occurred on Ohio 4 between Bucyrus and Ohio 294 within one hour of each other. No injuries occurred because of any of the incidents.
He said the road conditions along with the heavy morning traffic were factors in the abundance of crashes.
OHSP asks drivers to use extreme caution during hazardous condition.
Crawford County was under a Level 1 Snow Emergency at the time of the crash.
The Dallas Township Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
