Santa Claus wasn’t the only one out and about in Bucyrus on Christmas Eve this year. Bucyrus police answered several calls and two of them resulted in arrests.
Police answered a call at WalMart regarding an altercation between two patrons. Forty-one-year-old Mariann Johnson of Bucyrus was arrested for assault and resisting arrested. Johnson was also cited for driving with an expired driver’s license. Johnson did get an early Christmas gift, however. She was released, albeit with two criminal summonses, a citation and a date for a court appearance.
Nineteen-year-old Briona Rose was not quite as fortunate later that evening. Rose was arrested on an active Crawford County warrant when officers responded to a larceny complaint, as well as for theft. Rose was being held at the Crawford County Justice Center until she appears in court or posts bond.
