Bucyrus residents who normally have their garbage picked up curbside on Fridays are minded that city crews will not be working on Friday this week as part of the New Year’s holiday observances.
Those on the normal Friday route will have their garbage picked up on Monday, Jan. 5. All garbage to be picked up on Monday in Bucyrus should be out at the curb by 7 a.m. as crews will be running double routes that day. Extra paper and cardboard will also be picked up on scheduled garbage days through Jan. 9 at no additional charge.
The city encourages everyone to recycle.
The city will pick up live Christmas trees at the curb through Jan. 16, or they can be taken to the compost site until Jan. 9. The trees should not be placed in bags and all decorations, lights, and tree stands are to be removed.
All other non-emergency city offices will be closed on both today and Friday to observe the holidays.
