BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Bucyrus City Council convened for a special meeting on Thursday at 4 PM in the council chambers, following a call from Mayor Bruce Truka.
The agenda for the meeting included two primary items: the passage of the 2025 budget and consideration of manpower legislation.
The council successfully approved the 2025 budget by waiving the final reading and declaring an emergency. However, the manpower legislation encountered an issue. As a result, the manpower billet was sent back to the Finance Committee for further review.
Notably, Thursday’s meeting was not live-streamed, as Communication Specialist Bonnie Welsh was unable to attend. All council members were present, with the exception of Carolyn Shireman. Kevin Myers assumed the role of Pro Tem Council President, while Kurt Fankhauser participated in a private capacity. In the absence of Council Clerk Miranda Wise, Councilwoman Vicki Dishon stepped in to fulfill the clerk’s duties.
The Bucyrus City Council is scheduled to hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, January 7, in the council chambers.
