BUCYRUS—On Wednesday May 18, 2022 at 2:07 AM Bucyrus Police Officers and Bucyrus Firefighters were dispatched to the 600 block of W Mansfield St in regards to a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene and found a 49-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot to the head. A 52-year-old man was detained at the scene. The woman was treated on scene by Bucyrus Firefighters and transported to Bucyrus’ Avita hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was contacted to process the scene.
Bucyrus Police Officers were assisted at the scene by Crawford County Sheriffs deputies. The involved man was transported to the Crawford County Sheriffs Office.
The incident remains under investigation and more information will be released at a later time.
