The Bucyrus Police Department is investigating another armed robbery. The Police Department received a report at 7:42 p.m. Monday concerning an armed robbery at Southland Drive-Thru. The suspect was a male wearing camouflage pants, a red sweatshirt and a black ski mask.
This armed robbery comes after Moto Mart in Galion was robbed at gunpoint on Dec. 12 and the Sunoco in Bucyrus was robbed on Dec. 5. In both instances, the suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash and escaped on a bicycle.
The robberies remain under investigation. Anyone with information should call the Bucyrus Police Department at 419-562-1006 or the Galion Police Department at 419-468-9111.
In other police news, a routine traffic stop turned into multiple arrests Monday evening. Bucyrus police officers made a traffic stop in the 800 block of E. Mansfield St. after 5:00 p.m. Thirty-nine-year-old Donald Fetters was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of heroin and driving under suspension. Fetters’ passenger, forty-seven-year-old Paulette Cameron, was also arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of heroin and cocaine.
Both Fetters and Cameron were transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to await a bond hearing.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dakota S. Whitmore, of Ashland, early Tuesday morning for fleeing and eluding, driving under suspension and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Whitmore is being held for court.
