The Bucyrus Fire Department responded to a call at Knights Inn Wednesday morning.
According to Fire Chief Jay Keller, the department was called in after an electrical panel exploded in the north end of the motel on Sandusky Avenue. Firefighters used a powder extinguisher to put out the small fire. With mostly smoke inside, the department turned on fans to clear the air and called in AEP to investigate the situation.
Keller indicated that only one person had been renting a room at the time of the fire.
