BELLVILLE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Astronomy enthusiasts and families are invited to celebrate International Observe the Moon Night at the Warren Rupp Observatory near Bellville on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The free event, sponsored by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission and the Solar System Exploration Division, will be hosted by the Richland Astronomical Society, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to public astronomy education.
Activities will begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT with a presentation on the moon. Starting at 8:30 p.m., children’s activities and telescope viewing of the moon will be available. A certificate of participation will be offered to all attendees.
The observatory is located on the grounds of the Hidden Hollow Camp at 5127 Possum Run Road in Bellville. All outdoor events are weather permitting.
