BUCYRUS — It has been a little more than a year since Anytime Fitness Bucyrus opened its doors to local residents and the membership has quickly grown to 800 people and counting.
According to the fitness club’s director, Amanda Carey, the franchise is the fastest growing one in Ohio and the Midwest. The franchise that encompasses the Bucyrus fitness club is owned by David Sabo and Jeff Swinford along with Arden Arnett, who owns the training side of the business.
“We focus on being a coach for people. We have an entire support system to offer our customers,” Carey said. “We provide all of the tools for people to be successful in reaching their fitness goals.”
Customers receive a key fob to be able to enter the building, located in the East Pointe Shopping Center at 199 S. Stetzer Road, anytime they want to work out.
“We have everything a person needs to be able to reach their goals including cardio equipment like treadmills along with weight machines and free weights,” Carey said.

Carey said she and her staff work to break down barriers for people.
“Pretty much everyone has seen and probably used equipment like treadmills and rowing machines before, but the weight machines can be intimidating for people,” she said. “We are to help them with anything they need to reach their goals.”
Justin Jones is the club’s personal training director.
“Personal trainers offer guidance and help people stay on track to reaching their goals,” Jones said.
Bucyrus resident Logan Beeman has added 20 pounds of muscle since beginning his fitness routine with Jones about nine months ago.

“I feel great,” Beeman said. “I am here every day to work out and there is a positive change in how I look and feel. Justin has been a great trainer and support for me.”
Carey said studies show 65 percent of people drop off after the first two weeks of starting a fitness routine.
“We help people create their goals when they first sign up and help them reach them through our support in the club to our app they have access to,” Carey said.
Carey said the club also offers a studio in which people can choose from more than 300 fitness apps on a huge television to work out with instructors, including live feeds.
Bucyrus resident Nate Jackson works as the club’s member experience manager.
“He calls members to get them using the facility when they start to fall off,” Carey said. “We want people to get the use out of the studio, not just throw money at it.”
Jackson said he enjoys working with people and helping them stay on track to reach their fitness goals and become healthy.
The club also offers tanning beds members can use free of charge.
“We also have a line of supplements, along with a variety of merchandise, that people can purchase whether they are a member of the club or not,” Jones said.
