BUCYRUS — Mayor Matt Miller, Mayor of the City of Ashland, will be the guest speaker for the Men’s Community Breakfast.
The breakfast will take place at the Bucyrus Community Hospital Cafeteria on Jan. 9 at 7 a.m. Ladies are more than welcome to attend.
In 2017, Matt Miller was elected to serve as the 54th Mayor of the City of Ashland, Ohio. Prior to joining the city government, Matt served two terms as an Ashland County Commissioner (2000-2008) before being named the Business Administrator at the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
Matt has quickly earned the reputation of being a leader who listens to the people he serves, and he has proven to be a tireless advocate for the working families of the Ashland Community. Matt has always been a strong proponent of government transparency, and he has held numerous town hall meetings to encourage citizen participation in local government.
A former President of the Board of Directors of Hospice of North Central Ohio and past President of the Ashland Care Center, Matt has served on the Board of Directors of the Appleseed Community Mental Health Center and the Ashland County Community Academy. He is a former member of the Ashland County Developmental Disabilities Board, as well as a former United Way Campaign Chair and graduate of Leadership Ashland. Matt continues to be active in the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ashland County Community Foundation.
Born and raised in the Ashland area, Matt is a graduate of Ashland University where he was both a Presidential Scholar and Ashbrook Scholar at the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs. In 2007, Matt received the Ashland University Outstanding Alumni Award.
Matt and his wife Melanie are active in their Church and continue to volunteer with numerous organizations throughout Northeast Ohio.
Melanie Miller is a former NBA Cleveland Cavaliers Dancer and Miss Ohio 2006. Melanie was also crowned Mrs. Ohio in 2011, making her the only woman in Ohio’s history to be both Miss and Mrs. Ohio. Which led Melanie to participate in two Miss America Pageants.
