Felony drug convictions led to prison time for a Galion man.

Fifty-two-year-old Lyle Roberts of Galion pleaded guilty in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Wednesday afternoon to two charges of drug possession. Roberts admitted to possessing heroin and Vyvanse, a controlled substance, on Oct. 2, 2013.

Judge Russell Wiseman sentenced Roberts to eight months in prison on count one and eight months in prison on count two. The prison sentences will be served consecutively for a total of 16 months. Roberts was also credited 127 days for time already served. His license was suspended for six months and he must pay a mandatory $2,500 drug fine. Wiseman also ordered Roberts to forfeit any drug property being held by the Galion Police Department. A laptop being held by the police department was ordered to be released to Roberts’ brother.

Cindy Mabe of Crestline was able to avoid any prison time when she pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree felony of drug possession and a fifth-degree felony theft charge. Mabe admitted to depriving a victim of their property on Oct. 1, 2013 and possessing heroin on Dec. 21, 2013.

Mabe was sentenced to three years on community control with the condition that she undergoes a drug and alcohol assessment during that time. Her license was suspended for six months. Mabe will also be required to pay a mandatory $1,250 drug fine as well as restitution to the victim in an amount to be determined at a later date.

Joshua White, 21, of Bucyrus, appeared in Common Pleas Court on an initial hearing for community control violations. White allegedly took items from Circle K in Bucyrus on Jan. 30, failed to report his change of address on Jan. 14, and failed to report to his required office visit on Dec. 7, 2013.

Wiseman reappointed attorney Geoffrey Stoll to White and set bond at $5,000.

White had been on community control after serving time in prison on a felony three robbery case in 2011.
