In WQEL’s game of the week the Buckeye Central Bucks travelled to the Galion Tigers Friday night with the hopes to extend their lead in NCC hoops.
Galion got out to a quick start out pacing the New Washington team 11-13 in the first quarter. Buckeye took over the reins in the second quarter and went into the half clinging to a 25-24 lead. The Bucks stormed out of the gates during the third outscoring the Tigers 18-8 and never looked back winning 63-51.
Buckeye Central was led by Austin Wurm who scored 26 points, Cade Kaple added 13. With the win Buckeye Central improves to a 13-1 overall record and an 8-1 record in the NCC.
Ridge Durbin led all Galion scorers with 16 points. With the loss the Tigers fall to a 6-8 overall record and a 4-4 record in the NCC.
Colonel Crawford held firmly to their second place spot in the NCC knocking off Bucyrus 76-47.
Todd Entenmann, and Logan Sager of Crawford tied for most points in the game, leading the Eagles with 21 points apiece. Conner McCreary added 11 points, and Nate Klingenberger contributed 11 points to the Eagles win. With the win Colonel Crawford now sits at 12-3 with a 7-2 record in conference play.
Bucyrus was led by Brian Snouffer, who scored 18 points for the Redmen. With the loss Bucyrus falls to a 9-7 record with a 4-5 record in the NCC.
Wynford hosted Upper Sandusky in a clash of State Route 30 rivals. Things didn’t go so well for the host as the Royals fell to the Rams 70-57.
Cody Clifford led Upper with 20 points. Westin Vent wasn’t far behind chipping in 19 and Cody Collins added 10 points to the Rams winning effort. With the win Upper Sandusky improves to an 8-7 record with a 5-3 record within the North Central Conference.
Wynford’s Mason Davis led all scorers in the game with 23. With the Loss the Royals fall to 4-10 with a 2-6 North Central Conference record.
The Crestline Bulldogs travelled to Riverdale with hopes of a win against the Falcons. Riverdale has other plans though defeating the Bulldogs 71-54.
Jimmy Fox led the Falcons scorers with 18 points, followed by Lee Holderman with 15. With the win Riverdale improves to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in the NCC.
Crestline’s Nate Coffman led all scorers with 20 points, Coffman also added 13 rebounds for a double-double. With the loss Crestline falls to 3-11 with a 1-8 record in conference play.
