New Crestline Village Council member Stacey Wampler is getting very involved in village business and very busy.
Wampler will replace Mike Blasing on the Tree Committee.
“The stepping down of Mr. Blaising from the Tree Committee which he’s chaired for the last several years and he’s done a fantastic job working with the patio and garden club here in Crestline replacing the trees that have been damaged and diseased,” Mayor Dave Sharrock said.”The brand new councilwoman (is) stepping up to the plate, Stacey Wampler, and we are excited about that. She definitely got some big shoes to fill literally. I think she’ll do and excellent job and we’re excited to go on with that program. “
On Monday Wampler was named to the ESID Committee for Crestline. Sharrock discussed the importance and value of ESID.
“It’s going to help the village itself with all our buildings, the cost and that type of thing. It’s eventually going to save monies to other area businesses and that type of thing,” Sharrock said. “They have a lot of money to donate and Crestline is one of the main hubs for the East of Committees. So we are going to try and branch out to other areas in the county.”
Council also approved two new police officers. Jason Kitzmiller and Tyler Carey are on full-time probationary status.
Chairman Clayton Harold talked about the Crestline Harvest Festival and told the council there will be a new ride company this year with better rides that will pay the festival better. Harold also said the budget for the festival has been raised to $12,000.
