TIRO — Tiro Village Council met Wednesday evening to handle the business of the village. The meeting was conducted by Mayor Ron Brown and Fiscal Officer Cody Ramey.
Village Solicitor Sebastian Berger announced that the required record of retention policy had been completed. A retention of record policy identifies the record retention responsibilities of staff, volunteers, board members, and outsiders for maintaining and documenting the storage and destruction of the organization’s documents and records.
The final step in implementing the policy requires an approval vote by the record retention committee. It was agreed that the committee would meet one half hour before the next scheduled council meeting in May.
Estimates are being gathered to fill in several pot holes in the street including possibly filling in the hole near the feed mill. Richard Shatzer noted that the village should plan to use five yards of concrete. Original estimates calculated that the village would need two yards of concrete to fix the potholes. He explained that if the village orders only two yards of concrete, they still will be charged for five yards.
Concrete companies require a minimum purchase of five yards of concrete. Other council members will inspect the village to see where the extra concrete could be used. Another council member committed to securing other estimates as well.
With no new business on the agenda council was adjourned.
