The Crawford County Township Association (CCTA) appointed new officers, and swore in township trustees during its winter banquet Tuesday.
During Tuesday’s meeting at the Youth Building of the Crawford County Fairgrounds it was announced that Clay Ehman will serve as president, Milton Underwood will serve as vice-president, Dale Garverick will serve as secretary-treasurer,and Ron Miller will serve as Executive Committee director for the CCTA
Ron Miller explained what the role the Crawford County Township Association officers will be.
“At our winter convention we will elect a statewide board of directors, and statewide business officers and set policy for the upcoming year or years and hiring the executive director.”
After the new officers were announced, Judge Sean Leuthold swore in township trustees. Township trustees are in charge of road maintenance, cemetery maintenance, as well as township fire departments, and ambulance services.
Outgoing president of the Ohio Township Association (OTA) Greg Hannahan spoke briefly.
“My biggest goal is to thank you for the 30 plus years that I have served with the OTA,” Hannahan said.
Incoming OTA president Matt DeTemple was the keynote speaker of the meeting. During DeTemple’s speech he invited both incoming and seasoned township trustees to the 2014 OTA Winter Conference held in February.
The John Kennedy Quartet provided entertainment prior to the meeting being called to order.
