The Lutheran Churches of Galion announced today the first Galion Concert, featuring local and area talent. This first concert will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 127 S. Columbus Street, Galion, Ohio. This concert will celebrate the sounds of the season with vocal and instrumental works.
The concert will feature local and area residents sharing their talents. “With the recent production of “Les Miserables” at the Galion Community Theater, we were again reminded of the variety, quality and depth of musical talent in our community. There is a wealth of quality musicians in our area,” said Brian Treisch, one of the local organizers of the event who served as orchestra director for “Les Miserables”. “We felt that this talent should be showcased in other venues. That was the basis for developing this performance series.”
The first Galion Concert performance will feature a wide range of holiday music in a fast paced program. Organ and piano solos, brass ensembles, vocal solos are all being planned for this event. “We want to offer an inspirational event to celebrate the joy of the Christmas season through sacred and secular music,” said Jerusha Walker, another organizer of this event
A free will offering to benefit the Cooperative Christian Food Pantry will be taken. The concert is open to all. For more information contact Jerusha Walker at 419-565-3966.
