The Park, Playgrounds and Recreation Committee of Crestline Village Council met on March 31. Minutes were released to the ADVOCATE on April 30. The committee, chaired by village councilman Clayton Herold, discussed the disc golf course project for nearly an hour.

The disc golf course project, spearheaded by Crestline resident Rob Shawber, and at one time nearly ready to open, allegedly did not follow proper procedure. Some council members and village legal counsel have expressed safety concerns.

A July 20, 2016, a letter from village law director Jon Burton to Herold expressed concern that the project was built without following construction requirements for a public park.

According to Burton, park development is the responsibility of village administration, not council, and always subject to public expenditure laws, even when funded by donation.
