The American Legion Family of Colonel Crawford Post 181 will hold a joint recognition program on this Monday April 17th at the Post Home. This will be the first program honoring all past Presidents of the past Commanders of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and past Commanders the Sons of the American Legion. In the past few years they have combined programs to recognize all of the past leaders at one banquet.
This year we will be welcoming those officers who served the 2015-2016 membership year into the ranks of our past distinguished leaders. The Legion will honor John Neubacher, (USMC) the Auxiliary will honor Darlene Boudinot, and the SAL, Kevin Teynor. Guest speakers for the evening will be State Commander, Ron Chapman, State Auxiliary President Denise Conrad and State Sons of the Legion Chaplain Bernie Kessler from New Washington.
The Legion Post will also be honoring Legionnaires who have achieved benchmark years of continuous membership in The American Legion this year. They are seventy year members; Q.B. Ackerman, and John W. Pfahler (who is also a Past Commander). They will also be honoring fifty year members; Philip Belanger, Elmer Kafer Jr., James A. Landis, William W. Light and Otto Steiger.
The Post will begin the evening with a social hour at 5:30 PM, followed with the meal being served at 6:30 PM and the evenings program following the meal. All Bucyrus and Crawford County area Legionnaires, Auxiliary, SAL members and their spouses or invited guests are invited welcome to attend. The banquet is free to all those attending.
