A man accused of first-degree felony rape was arraigned in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Monday morning and now faces the possibility of never being free again.

Donald C. Fisher

Fifty-five-year-old Donald Fisher of Bucyrus is charged with felony 1 rape with specifications meaning he could be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted. Judge Sean Leuthold upped the amount of Fisher’s bond set in Municipal Court from $2 million to $3 million.

The victim in the case is five years old and the statute Fisher is charged under is specific to those crimes in which the victim is less than 13 years of age and less than 10 years of age.

The judge, in increasing the bond required, noted that Fisher has two prior felony convictions, one of which was for felony 3 gross sexual imposition in 1988. James Mayer was appointed to represent Fisher.

Others arraigned Monday were: Kelly Mayer for F5 criminal non-support (personal recognizance bond); Bonnie Hart for F5 theft (personal recognizance bond); Angela Chapman for two counts of F5 drug possession and one count of M1 drug possession ($75,000 bond); and Tanya Laferty for F3 tampering with evidence and F5 possession of drugs ($250,000).

Four people were also charged with violating terms of their probation Monday. All four entered denials and are being held in the Crawford County Justice Center.

Those charged on Monday with violating community control are: Alisha Hughes ($150,000 bond); Rickey Jackson ($200,000 bond); Nicholas Hamel ($200,000 bond); and Blaine Dunlap ($50,000).
