The man charged with robbing Check Into Cash locations in both Bucyrus and Galion was arraigned via video in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Sean Leuthold continued the $1 million bond set at 54-year-old Mark Morgan’s initial hearing in Municipal Court.

Morgan, who is listed as homeless in court documents, was located by police staying in a Days Inn in Tiffin. Morgan is charged with two counts of first-degree felony aggravated robbery and could be sentenced to 11 years in prison on each count, plus additional mandatory time for the use of a weapon in committing a crime.

Following the Dec. 28 robbery in Bucyrus, Bucyrus police had posted the security footage from the Check Into Cash security camera on the department’s Facebook page hoping someone may recognize the man in the still photo.

The department received numerous calls from individuals throughout the area who identified the male suspect from the still image. The Bucyrus Police Department then confirmed the male suspect’s identity by using images from BMV OHleg. Other tips indicated the suspect was staying in a hotel in the Tiffin area.

Following Morgan’s arrest, Galion police also interviewed him in connection with the robbery of Check Into Cash in that city.
