Former Wynford basketball coach Rob Sheldon visited the WQEL studio for Saturday Night Phoneboard with Dave Hirschy. The show ran on Dec. 17, 2016.
Sheldon helmed the boys basketball program for 24 seasons and finished with a record of 401-156 at Wynford. He coached 12 All-Ohioans and led his teams to top 10 finishes five times. Under Sheldon, the Royals won nine NCC titles, 18 sectional titles, seven district titles, two regional titles, two state appearances, and was state runner up in 1987. He was inducted into the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame 2003 and is also in the Wynford, Crawford, and Wyandot halls of fame.
