The Galion men’s swim team continued its hot streak and closed out 2016 with a four-way victory on Dec. 30 at the Bucyrus YMCA.
The Tigers finished with 194 points, far outpacing Upper Sandusky (122), Willard (66), and Bucyrus (2). The men’s team won 10 of their 11 events with Eli Skaggs, Sam Rigdon, and Clay Karnes scoring double wins and freshman Caleb Strack continuing his winning ways in the 100 yard backstroke.
Though the Lady Tigers finished with 126.5 – second only to the Lady Rams’ 181 points – they were led by double winners Allison DeNero and Sari Conner. Willard finished the meet with 55 and Bucyrus rounded out the teams with 19.5.
“I was happy with the team’s performance,” said Galion swim coach Ted Temple. “The Galion team has been practicing with lots of yardage along with two swim meets included in that week. The team stepped up with all swimmers contributing to the success.”
