Press release
The Bucyrus Public Library will feature Chip Richter on Friday, Aug. 5 at 3:30 P.M. in Room AB. Singer-songwriter Chip Richter serves up stories, songs, and smiles “family style.” Chip’s concerts feature something on the menu for everyone. It’s a recipe for “more fun than a kid should be allowed to have” as Chip delivers healthy portions of love and laughter for all ages to enjoy! Touring nationally as a solo artist or with his band “The Munks,” Chip’s delightful performances are filled with his gentle spirit, pleasant and winsome style, and an unmistakable connection with children and family audiences.
Chip Richter’s original songs range from fun, rollicking, bash-around tunes to songs that are very thoughtful and inspiring, but not at all preachy. Chip’s performances have found a home in libraries, churches, schools, and theaters all over the country. He uses acoustic instruments, songs, humor, and loads of audience participation to encourage children to discover their gifts and talents and to use those gifts to help others. Chip Richter’s music has been compared to James Taylor and Phil Keaggy and indeed offers a tranquil, folk appeal that is soothing to the soul and finds a welcoming audience among teachers, librarians, and parents as much as children.
This event is free and open to the public. Kick off August’s First Friday festival early: all those who attend this program will receive a ticket redeemable for a prize at the library’s booth in front of the Pelican Coffee House from 5:00-9:00 PM that night. For more information, please visit the children’s room at the library or contact Barbara Scott at 419-562-7327, ext. 104.
